Casters carry the machine and set its ride height — which means a worn caster changes how the brush deck contacts the floor. The symptom is rarely “the wheel is broken”. It is a machine that starts tracking slightly to one side, a brush that leaves an uneven pattern, or a rattle that appeared out of nowhere.
What this part does
Body casters hold the machine at the working height the deck was designed for, and steer it as it follows a route. Because the load they carry depends on machine weight, caster specification is weight-driven, not cosmetic: the casters on a 180 kg compact robot and a 400 kg wide-area machine are genuinely different parts.

When a robot scrubber caster wheel needs replacing
- Visual: flat spots from standing still under load, tread worn through to the core, or a wheel that no longer swivels freely.
- On behaviour: the machine drifting off its route line, uneven cleaning pattern, or new noise over expansion joints and thresholds.
- Environment: sites with chemical residue or frequent washing accelerate tread wear — check casters at the same time as the brush and squeegee.
