Roller Brush for SC50 and SC80 Floor Cleaning Robots

Replacement roller brush for SC50 and SC80 floor cleaning robots. Fluff and scrubbing brush types, wear signs, replacement intervals, and how to confirm the right part before ordering. Quoted per order.

SC50 and SC80 do not use a disc brush. Both machines run a double-roller deck with double side brushes, and the roller brush is the part that does the actual scrubbing. It is also the consumable you will replace most often, so it is worth understanding before you order anything.

What a roller brush does

A roller brush rotates against the floor and lifts soil up and back into the machine instead of sweeping it forward. On these machines the roller module also lifts and drops automatically, so the deck follows changes in floor type without an operator adjusting anything — which is why SC50 and SC80 handle mixed flooring in one pass.

Two consequences matter when buying spares. First, a roller deck works by contact pressure along a narrow line, so a flattened brush loses cleaning power faster than a disc brush does. Second, rollers collect hair, tape, cable ties and packaging strapping — a great many “worn out” roller brushes are simply clogged and would clean normally again after twenty minutes with a knife and a pair of gloves.

Compatible models

Roller length and end fittings are model-specific and are not interchangeable between the two machines. Dimensions below are nominal working widths from the machine specifications — confirm length, diameter and end fitting with our team before ordering.

Both machines take their edge cleaning from side brushes rather than from the roller, and the water is picked up by the squeegee blades — so brushes and rubber are normally replaced in the same visit.

Fluff brush or scrubbing brush — two roller types

The roller in these machines is supplied in two bristle types, and ordering the wrong one is a real category of mistake:

  • Fluff brush — for routine washing on floors you do not want to mark: it washes while avoiding scratching the surface, and in heavy dust conditions it is used first to loosen soil before the harder brush follows.
  • Scrubbing brush — for stubborn, embedded grime. It cleans more aggressively and is the right pick for loading bays, workshops and back-of-house floors.
  • Mixed fleets: many sites run a fluff brush in the front position and a scrubbing brush in the rear, or keep both sets on the shelf and swap by area. Tell us how you plan to use the machine and we will confirm what to order.

When to replace an SC50 replacement brush

  • Weekly: strip hair, tape and fibres off the roller. This is maintenance, not a replacement — and it is the single most common reason a roller is blamed for poor pickup.
  • On result: debris left behind on open floors, or the machine needing a second pass over material it used to take first time.
  • On condition: bristle tufts flattened, splayed or missing; a roller that no longer sits true in the deck; damaged bearings or end caps.
  • On schedule: plan on around two roller sets a year for a machine on a normal shift. Abrasive floors, cement dust and heavy scrubbing wear them through faster.

How to confirm you are ordering the right part

  1. Machine model as printed on the unit — SC50 and SC80 take different rollers.
  2. A photo of the roller end fitting, showing the bearing and end cap.
  3. Overall length measured with a tape in the frame, plus which bristle type you want.

Send those and we will confirm the part rather than guess at it. If your machine is instead the disc-version Scrubber 50, the part you need is the Scrubber 50 disc brush.

Ordering and pricing

Roller brushes are quoted per order by model, bristle type and quantity. Send us your machine model and a photo of the end fitting, and we will come back with a quote and lead time. Request a quote, or browse all spare parts and consumables.
