Charging Contact Set for Floor Cleaning Robots and Docking Stations

Replacement charging contacts and contact blocks for floor cleaning robots and their docking stations. Why charging faults start at the contacts, and how to confirm the right part before ordering.

When a cleaning robot “sometimes fails to charge overnight”, the fault is very often in the contacts rather than in the battery or the charger. The contacts are metal-on-metal surfaces that arc slightly on every docking, and they collect dust, detergents and moisture in exactly the environment the machine works in. It is a small, cheap part that decides whether your unattended shift actually happens.

What this part does

Charging contacts are the interface between the robot and its dock: the robot drives onto the dock, the contacts close, and charging begins. They have to carry full charging current while staying aligned through hundreds of docking cycles — which is why they are usually a sprung or floating assembly rather than a fixed plate. Once contact resistance rises, the machine still docks, still reports “docked”, and quietly charges slowly or not at all.

Compatible models

Contact geometry and current rating vary across the range. Confirm the part with our team before ordering — robot-side and dock-side contacts are separate items.

When a charging contact set is needed

  • On symptom: charging that stops and restarts, a machine that arrives at the dock but gains little charge, or an overnight shift that ends early with the battery flat.
  • On inspection: pitting, blackening or corrosion on the contact faces, a sprung contact that no longer travels, or a burnt smell around the dock.
  • Preventive: clean contacts monthly with a dry cloth; never use abrasive paper, which removes the plating that protects them.

Ordering and pricing

Contact sets are quoted per order, priced by model and by whether you need the robot side, the dock side, or both. Tell us the machine model and what the charging symptom looks like, and we will confirm the part. Request a quote, or browse all spare parts and consumables.
